Pilates is the core of any physical activity. It brings structure and awareness TO THE BODY, while strengthening, stretching and creating leaner bodies.

It was originally used to enhance professional dancers technique, used for rehabilitation and at the same time to create beautiful sleek and strength-full bodies.

Through time it has evolved into a basic mindful movement practiced by all kinds of people.

It is gentle enough for people over 65 years old. It is a perfect complement to your current sports activity. It improves dancers and athletes technique. It brings body awareness for actors, singers and artists that work with their bodies. It improves postures in your yoga practice. It is a helpful tool for women in their prenatal and postnatal pregnancy.

MORE AND MORE IT IS BEING USED TO HELP PEOPLE THROUGH TRAUMA OR ILLNESS SUCH AS CANCER FOR HEALING AND RESTORATION.

Depending on your personal needs we can create a special program ideal for you or your group. We could work either with gentle mat work (on the floor), on the machines. This special machines are called reformers and trapeze tables, they are designed to work the body with extra intensity by using the resistance of springs. We could use as well the latest evolution of the practice, Hot Pilates, a more vigorous and high intensity form of the practice in a heated room.

In Private classes you are taught to align your body perfectly before starting an exercise, and then to focus on individual muscle groups and work them without putting strain on other areas. Within weeks of starting you will notice that your stomach is flatter, your muscles will feel more toned and your joints will be looser and more supple. Some people even claim to get taller as their spine is stretched and straightened. Your posture in everyday life will improve as you strengthen the body’s central core muscles, helping you to stand straight and hold your upper body correctly.

Those who are already fit will discover new and effective ways of exercising and toning their bodies.

Pilates requires total concentration, as you breathe to enhance the effectiveness of the movements and focus on the FEELINGS in your muscles AND THE BODY.

It is important to learn from an experienced instructor who will asses your needs and create a program specially for you or your group.

BODY LOTUS PILATES FLOW
Depending on your or your groups needs the class can be taught as a gentle dance like Pilates flow with the basics of technique gentle enough for beginners and seniors or those wishing to feel the flow of dance more , or as a high intensity fit interval training class (sometimes in heat "hot Pilates")where your heart rate will go up you will sweat get a cardiovascular workout.The classes are adapted to you and your evolution.

YOGA DANCE FLOW
Gabriela’s signature Yoga Dance Flow Class blending the beauty of Pilates Yoga and Dance, very akin to the flow of a dance class.
Dance Classes in Ballet, Jazz Ballet and Contemporary are also offered for teenagers or adults interested in dancing more.

YIN YOGA
A slow paced style of yoga gentle enough for seniors and beginners and deep enough for practitioners whi to expand their knowledge and delve deeper into their practice. Working with the connective tissues of the body, joints, tendons fascia and ligaments with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.

A more meditative approach to yoga, yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence by holding poses for longer periods of time. We are guided by the qualities of our chinese meridians and energy centers used in tcm.Good for releasing stress.
